Excellent podcast. I thought I knew a lot about JW, until I heard this. All the participants were well spoken and had unique perspectives on the life of a JW. John Hoyle had some amazing insights into shunning. Amazing stuff.

I really enjoyed the podcast The Thinking Atheist I listened to the entire podcast. About Jehovah’s Witnesses and Ex Jehovah’s witnesses. He is a thinking Atheist who asked questions and got answers to his Questions. You will notice how calm he was in his Questions. He is worth listening too.

John, your interview with Seth was awesome! You did an outstanding job as an interviewee. You have to do this again and again. This will get some big-time attention if the right ears can hear it.

It was that podcast that led me here. I an neither a former witness, nor an atheist. However, have friends who are JW’s and would love to see them leave the organization. This podcast is very insightful.

Recently Mom (non-JW) passed, my eldest Sis (JW for 49 years) wanted me to take care of everything so I (non-JW) did – have been Mom’s 24/7 caregiver for the last 7 years. When Sis found out that I was left the house and her and my other Sis (non-JW) the monies, stock, life insurance, & furniture, all the sudden she wanted to be executor as nominated in the will & I’m ok with that. She read me the riot act about she should get more than was in the will so I contacted an Attorney for advice & he said she needed to file probate if she wanted the job, & he said it’s just that, a job. When I told her this, she went vile on me with texts for 4.5 hr. I did not respond with same vileness. I read in the PDF of Sheppard of the Flock of God – Chapter 5, that she had committed at least three dis-fellowshippable offense. I realize that the WBTS would back her, and I wouldn’t want to bring that on her – but still the same, she has committed the offenses ie; lying, bearing false witness, reviling. She and her “Elder” husband didn’t really want to use legal channels to settle the estate until she realized she couldn’t do it any other way and currently doesn’t want to give me time to legal counsel, just wants to bully & bum rush me. I used to bristle when folks would call JW’s a cult – however – my Sis has done a stellar job, (and extensive research into the “Organization” and it’s Founders) – that this, this entity is in fact a Cult. Thanks for letting me vent.
